Why this organization exists.
The Oath of Office is a nonpartisan effort to return political accountability to the American public, built as a public, permanent record rather than a one-time campaign promise.
A registered nonprofit, built to outlast any single election cycle.
What we do.
We verify, in public, that a candidate or officeholder has sworn the Politician's Creed and continues to meet the standard it sets.
We make it easy to see what's actually on the table in your local government, in plain language, while there's still time to act.
We back candidates who commit to their constituents over party pressure, with tools that hold up against that pressure once they're in office.
Our standing.
The Oath of Office is organized as a 501(c)(4) social welfare nonprofit, registered in Texas in March 2025. We accept candidates and members of every party on the same terms, and we hold ourselves to the same public standard we ask officeholders to meet.
Independent, on purpose.
We’re building toward a constitution that puts operational control in the hands of the people who use this platform, not a single owner or party. See our Guiding Principles for where that stands today.
Accountability, held in the open, for as long as this organization exists.
